Resources For Organizations

Some organizations do not offer assistance to individual families.

These groups support adoption by supplying financial assistance to other organizations, but they do not offer assistance to individuals or families.

Many organizations are trustworthy, mainstream, and committed to aiding in adoption. But that doesn't always mean that you should spend your time pursuing support from that organization. Groups such as The Dave Thomas Foundation and Grant Me A Chance provide grants and support to adoption agencies and other non-profit organizations for special situations, but do not provide grants or financial support to families.

Which Grants Are Not For Families?

Below are a few adoption grant organizations which do not provide support directly to adopting families.

The Dave Thomas Foundation:
The Dave Thomas Foundation was established by the founder of Wendy's restaurants, Dave Thomas. The Foundation supports domestic adoptions in North America from the foster care system.

Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute:
Grants previously provided by the Evan B. Donaldson Adoption Institute are intended to fund travel to national adoption conferences for scholars presenting research in the field of adoption. This grant is currently unavailable due to lack of funds.

Grant Me A Chance:
Grant Me A Chance works with adoption agencies to identify children with special circumstances, and provides grants to agencies for the adoption of those particular children.
